Al Quds University represents the Academy in IAP Young Scientists – Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum

The Palestine Academy for Science and Technology (PALAST), as a member in InterAcademy Panel on International Issues IAP, participated in the Young Scientists Conference in conjunction with the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (WEF) which is known as (Summer Davos) between the 26th and the 28th of September 2008, in Tianjin-China.
 
Dr. Mukhles Sowwan, director of Nanotechnology laboratory at Al-Quds University was nominated to participate in this conference representing Palestine as one of the 43 young scientists invited from all over the world. 
 
All 43 scientists from 32 different countries ended the conference by making the following statement “Passion for Science- Passion for a Better World”.

Following that, young scientists who came together at 2008 and 2009 events organized by the InterAcademy Panel for International Issues (IAP) at World Economic Forum (WEF) ‘Summer Davos’ meetings initiated the idea of a Global Young Academy as a forum to connect and support young, talented scientists from all over the world. On 16 February 2010, 40 young scientists from 28 countries met to officially inaugurate the Global Young Academy in Berlin, Germany.
