A group of Palestinian specialized trainers in the field of writing grant proposals from different Palestinian universities including An-Najah National University, Al Quds University and Arab American University held the first practical seminar of "Writing Grant Proposals for Young Palestinian Researchers " Training Course. The seminar was held via Zoom platform over the period of June 20-23, 2021.
Whereas, Writing Grant Proposals for Young Palestinian Researchers (GRYPS) is a three-phase training course. It's intended to help participants create their own research funding submissions for national and international funding.
The course uses a blended learning method, with one virtual seminar (Seminar I), an E-Learning phase led by the course trainers, and a final onsite seminar (Seminar II). Each seminar will consist of lectures, working in groups or individually and applicable exercises.
These activities will be delivered and led by specialized trainers, professionals from the training partners, as well as regional and international experts.
Twenty Palestinian academics with PhDs from the West Bank and Gaza Strip were selected to participate in this course. This course aims to teach participants the important principles of grant writing to help them create their own research funding submissions for national and international funding. It also aims at sharing knowledge on fundamental structural elements that are required by most of the international experts.
This course was prepared and designed by Dr. Ithar Beshtawi, Dr. Mohammad Abuabiah and Dr. Ihab H. Alsurakji from An-Najah National University, Miss Suha Al Butmeh from Al-Quds University and Dr. Omar Abu Abed from the Arab American University under the supervision of regional experts, Dr. Nisreen Houry from Lebanon and Dr. Samer Raddad from Palestine.
