The mission research period: 02/2019 – 02/2022
Title of Research: Development of magnetic based biological sensors for the detection of Brucella Spp.
Research Purpose: To develop a simple, fast, and inexpensive test that can be used in the field for the detection of Brucella spp.
Main outputs/results:
- The novel (Hebron magnetic reader) with digital demodulation has been finished and put into operation.
- The design of DNA target and probe strands for detection of Brucella has been finished.
- Studies on different surface chemistries for binding the DNA probes to the columns has been performed and a suitable technique has been selected.
- The principle of detection was established.
Main Impact: The test will play a role in preventing the spread of Brucella spp through the livestock animals and thus decrease the impact on human health and avoid economic consequences.
