Dr. Ahmed A. Abushanab was born in 1962 in Gaza. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from The Queen's University of Belfast in Northern Ireland, UK (in Dec. 1990), and bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology from IUG Palestine. In 1992, Dr. Abushanab joined the Medical Science department at the college of Science and Technology as Assistant Professor teaching the Medical Lab students a Biochemistry courses. He became the vice Dean for Academic Affairs in 1994. He is currently the Dean of The University College of Science and Technology since 1996. The College has about (2500) students offering a Bachelor and Diploma degrees in different fields of Technical and vocational programs, (Medical Science, Engineering Science, Computer and IT Sciences and Administration and Financial Sciences). Under his leadership, twenty-three years of Dr. Abushanab career were spent in building and developing the college in academic, administrative and construction fields. The college currently offers more than 27 programs in different technical fields. Dr. Abushanab as a dean accomplishments included the development and implementation of a plan for restructuring the divisions of academic and administrative affairs and initiation of the first academic and administrative master plan of the university college.
