Prof. Dr. Hans Ströher is director of the Nuclear Physics Institute, Department of Experimental Hadron Dymanics at Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, as well as a Professor of experimental physics at the University of Cologne, Germany.
Prof. Ströher obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Giessen. He has held several scientific positions, including stays at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley, USA) and Brookhaven National Laboratory (Brookhaven, USA). In Germany, he has held staff positions at the University of Giessen, the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung and the University of Mainz.
Prof. Ströher is the recipient of many scientific awards, including 2 ERC Advanced Grants. Additionally, he is very active in establishing international collaborations, holding a leadership role in the Georgian-German Science Bridge before joining the advisory committee of the Palestinian-German Science Bridge.
