Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Palestine Academy of Science and Technology has virtually held the 14 th episode of the Palestine Astrophysics Program, with Prof. Saleem Zaroubi, on Black Holes: Peering into the Depths of Darkness, in the middle of a remarkable interaction of students, who are interested in astronomy and space science.
This episode was moderated by Imad Mehjez the physics supervisor at the Directorate of Education - West Gaza - Ministry of Education.
Prof. Saleem Zaroubi is a Palestinian researcher and lecturer working at Kapteyn Astronomical Institute at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He is the Director of the Institute of Astrophysics and an academic at the Open University. His research interests include: structure and evolution of the universe, properties of cosmic microwave rays released about 370,000 years after the Big Bang, the formation of the first galaxies, intergalactic matter physics, and the influence of dark matter and dark energy on the evolution of the universe. Prof. Zaroubi has recently won the Humboldt Award – 2022, which is the most prestigious award for international researchers in Germany.
