The Academy holds Assessing the Status of Jerusalemites Academicians: Challenges and Action Plans Meetings

The initial findings of the survey study that was initiated by Academy in cooperation with the MEHE and the President’s Office, under the title “Assessing the status of Jerusalemites academicians: to study the obstacles they face and the means by which to mitigate these constraints”, were discussed in a meeting organized by PALAST on the 26th of December 2009. Representatives from Alquds University, AlNajah National University, Polytechnic University, Birzeit University, and Hebron University attended the meeting that discussed the draft report done by the academy with the initial findings.
 
The meeting was concluded by coming up with recommendations that will be followed up by the committee and one mission is to build a database that will be of use to integrate more results in the future.

The outcome of the study was circulated to the relevant institutions with number of recommendations identified. 

The second meeting was held by Academy on 27 January 2014 at its premises in Biet Hanina, Jerusalem, attended by President of the Presidential Office, Secretary General of the Ministers council, President of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, Governor and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Director General of the Jerusalem Unit at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and representatives from Palestinian Universities.

The Academy presented a presentation on promoting the Academy role in Jerusalem, followed by presentation from Dema Al Saman DG of the Jerusalem Unit at MoHE. The meeting was concluded a suggested work plan targeted Students, Teachers, Unemployed youth, Jerusalem Institutions, Graduates from Academic Institutions,  Academics and experts.
