A meeting for the Administrative Committee of Palestinian Biological Society (PBS) was held through Zoom Webinar on June 27th, 2020, with the participation of His Excellency Minister Dr. Marwan Awartani, and in the presence of the members of the Society in the West Bank and Gaza.
Future activities as well as implementing the objectives of the Biological Society were discussed, including:
- The action plan for 2020-2021
- Creating Interactive website and Social Media
- Databases for Biologist members, with the help of scholars database created by PALAST, for cooperation and Networking scientists locally and internationally, especially Palestinian Scientists in Diaspora.
- Designing a logo for Biological Society
- To held a Summer Schools
- To held an International Conference on Biological Sciences.
- To held several workshops and scientific seminars
- To have an awareness workshop as Mentorship and Science Outreach for researchers in Palestine.
HE Minister Dr. Marwan Awartani introduced an essential role for scientific societies, in integrating them with the schools curriculum at Ministry of Education (MoE), and their roles in setting up the strategies for distance learning via Webinar, to face the pandemic of Corona crises. The MoE will provide a technical support, animation, and broadcasting for their work with the Ministry, to complement their national work for serving the Palestinian students at schools. The Palestine Academy will coordinate those efforts between MoE and Scientific Societies.
