Dr. Elham Kateeb
Dr. Elham Kateeb is an assistant professor of Dental Public Health in the Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry department. Dr. Kateeb returned back to the College of Dentistry at Al-Quds University in September, 2013 after completing her PhD in Dental Public Health in 2012 and her American Board in Dental Public Health in 2013. Since then she has been active in teaching, community service and research. Dr. Kateeb took the office of Scientific Research Dean at Al-Quds University in September 2017. Dr. Kateeb is a dental public health specialist who supervises many oral health promotion and disease prevention programs in Palestine in collaboration with the ministries of Health and Education, the Palestinian Dental Association, and different local and international oral health organizations. In addition, Dr. Kateeb is a health service researcher who presented her research in international conferences and prestigious dental journals. Her research focuses on access to dental care among marginalized populations. Today, Dr. Kateeb is an elected member of the International Dental Federation (FDI) Public Health Committee. This committee monitors and advises the FDI Council on the improvement of oral health and general health in disadvantaged communities and on broader health promotion. Dr. Kateeb got her PhD from the University of Iowa, her MPH in Public Health Practice from the University of Massachusetts and a DDS degree from the University of Jordan.
