Dr. Walid Khalilia is an Associate Professor of Biology and Radiobiology at Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho, Palestine. He is currently an academic staff in the forensic biology department and he was the founder and the chairman of the same department.

Dr. Khalilia is an active researcher who works in the fields of Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Apoptosis, Environmental Radiobiology and Forensic Biological Sciences in addition to Bioethics. He has obtained a fellowship to spend time at Istanbul University to work in the lab of Prof. Gül Özcan on the Project “Investigating the effect of hypobaric pressure on apoptosis signal pathways”. Also, he has gained   a project from FAO to “Genotypic, phenotypic and biochemical characterization of local date palm cultivars, Palestine”.

Dr. Khalilia has 16 peer-reviewed articles in international journals in addition to participation in 6 international conferences. He acts as an editorial board member and reviewer for many international journals. Also, he is an active member in many national and international scientific societies.
