Research Project Title: Phenotypic and Molecular Characterization of Candida Species Isolated from Clinical Samples in Gaza Strip
Research Project Purpose: The main objective of this research is to Study the phenotypic and molecular characterization of candida species isolated from clinical samples in Gaza strip.
Expected Results: Detecting of multidrug resistant strains of Candida species, especially to azole antifungal drugs, and making molecular characterization of these strains for presence of antifungal resistance genes as the azole resistance genes (ERG11, ERG3, CDR1, CDR2), alcohol dehydrogenase gene (ADH1) and echinocandin resistance genes (FKS1, FKS2, FKS3) mutations.
